Etobicoke neighbourhood guide
Mimico
One of Etobicoke’s oldest communities, combining detached-home streets, local shopping, GO access and a large mix of apartments and waterfront condominiums.
Housing character
Older cottages, bungalows and two-storeys appear in established pockets, alongside semis, townhomes, apartments and newer infill. Humber Bay Shores is a distinct high-rise environment within the broader local conversation.
Getting around
Mimico GO, the 507 streetcar and TTC bus routes connect to Line 2 and other parts of the city. The Gardiner Expressway is nearby.
Setting and amenities
Waterfront parks, trails and local main streets offer a more urban lakeside setting than many detached-home neighbourhoods farther north.
Worth knowing
Housing form and atmosphere change quickly from the lakefront towers to interior detached streets. Buyers should be precise about which pocket they mean by “Mimico.”
Boundary note: City profile: Mimico-Queensway; local boundaries vary. Familiar local names, real estate search areas and City statistical boundaries do not always match exactly.
